Workplace Injury

Here's a few ways chiropractic can help if you get an injury at work.

Have you suffered a work injury that is affecting your ability to live a fulfilling life? If you are dealing with a work injury or accident, chiropractic care can help get you back on your feet as soon as possible, and Ellerslie Chiropractic is here to do just that.

Not all work-related injuries happen in construction. The majority of injuries we come across occur in the office. Carpal tunnel syndrome and chronic neck pain can be caused by poor posture or bad ergonomics. A small skid on a wet or slippery floor could lead to disc problems. Improper lifting of heavy boxes could result in chronic back pain.

One of the most common issues we deal with as chiropractors is back injury, often exacerbated by poor posture. Many of our clients spend hours sitting at their desk, which strains muscles causing stiffness and soreness. Sometimes the solution is as simple as fixing poor ergonomics at the office, however getting your spinal alignment checked assists your body in adapting to your lifestyle and builds resilience, helping to avoid ongoing problems.

Hours spent on the computer can result in another type of workplace injury known as carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). People suffering from this painful condition feel a burning sensation and experience difficulty gripping objects. Swelling around the median nerve in the wrist causes pain from pressure placed on the nerve.

If you have a herniated disc in your spine that is the result of a workplace injury, it may continue to cause pain as long as it’s affecting the nearby nerves. You might also suffer from neck pain or headaches, including migraines. Chiropractic treatment helps provide relief through a variety of adjustment techniques. Depending on your injury, we will work with you to help specifically address your pain management needs and move you forward in your rehabilitation.
